- In some areas, former zamindars continued to own large areas by making use of loopholes in legislation
- In some cases, tenants were evicted and zamindars claimed to be self-cultivators
- Even after getting ownership, poorest agricultural labourers did not benefit

**Conclusion:** While abolition of intermediaries was a step towards equity, it did not fully serve the goal due to implementation challenges and loopholes in legislation.
